The Tennessee Titans suffered a pretty brutal loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night, holding the lead late into the fourth quarter before the Steelers retook the lead with four minutes left on the clock. The Titans had two possessions afterward to try and retake the lead but failed on both occasions. But head coach Mike Vrabel isn’t blaming the loss just on late-game execution.

During his press conference, Mike Vrabel made it clear that the loss didn’t just come down to how the team performed late in the game. Instead, the loss was a culmination of all the things throughout the game. However, he did make it clear that it was disappointing to end the game on an interception from rookie quarterback Will Levis.

“You don’t lose it late. There’s always other things that go into it,” Vrabel said according to Nick Suss of the Tennessean. “Opportunities missed or their ability to make a play when they needed to. It’s good to see us continue to fight. We got a stop, got an opportunity to get the ball down there. We tried to get it in the end zone. They made a play.”

With the loss, the Titans now fall to 3-5 on the season.
