There were plenty of reports of Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer going after stuffed animals in order to inspire his team.

But as we’ve seen following the Vikings’ loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Zimmer wants nothing to do with the assumption that he attacked stuff animals. During a Thursday press conference, Zimmer went after the reports and went on to read off a number of the headlines he deemed erroneous:

It seems that Zimmer comes off a tad petty here. His team has enough stuff going on. Whether it’s Minnesota’s first loss this past Sunday or an offensive line that can’t block. But I guess Zimmer wants his name cleared of this now.

While this tactic might not have worked, the Vikings will have a chance to defeat one of the biggest soft bears we know right now — the Chicago Bears’ defense.
