In the aftermath of Myles Garrett’s one-car accident on Monday, his agent, Nicole Lynn, has released a statement on the condition of the Cleveland Browns’ star defensive end.
Initial reports were that while the car was seriously damaged, Garrett’s injuries were “non-life threatening.” Lynn didn’t get into detail on what specific injuries Garrett incurred in the crash, noting that those were not known. She did say that Garrett “has been alert and responsive.”
“Myles Garrett was involved in a one-car accident this afternoon and was transported to a local hospital to be medically evaluated,” said Lynn. “While we are waiting to learn the extent of his injuries, he has been alert and responsive. The Garrett family would like to thank the medical personnel that got Myles and his passenger out of the vehicle safely transported to the hospital.”

Fortunately, the most significant detail of this is positive. If he’s “alert and responsive,” then the likelihood that this will be a truly sad story is greatly diminished. That’s the most important part of it.
Garrett, 26, is in his sixth NFL season. In three games in 2022, he’s recorded seven total tackles, three sacks, and one forced fumble, helping the Browns to a 2-1 record.
