The New England Patriots are eager to get back to AFC East dominance after losing control of the division to the Buffalo Bills following Tom Brady’s departure. The Pats brought in new head coach Mike Vrabel to return some of the culture that has been missing from the franchise in recent seasons.
Vrabel has two young stars on either side of the ball to work with in quarterback Drake Maye and cornerback Christian Gonzalez. Unfortunately, Gonzalez has suffered a brutal injury in the early part of training camp, according to one prominent league insider.
“Sources: #Patriots All-Pro CB Christian Gonzalez suffered a hamstring injury during Monday’s practice that will sideline him for a bit, but I’m told it will not impact his Week 1 availability,” reported Jordan Schultz on Tuesday.
Fans reacted to news of the injury on social media.
“They need to make this kid start drinking milk or something,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“The team isn’t going anywhere this year. Please just don’t rush him back give him time,” one Patriots fan added.
“Great but the bad thing is it’ll be nagging for the season. Hamstrings almost always get worse over time,” another fan added.
Hopefully, the Patriots and Gonzalez take their time wiht his recovery.
