NFL free agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is still hunting for a new team, and the search will take him to Foxborough next week to visit with the New England Patriots.

Hopkins is coming off a visit with the Tennessee Titans where the two sides were unable to come to a deal.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport broke the news about the Patriots’ visit.

“Former Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is set to visit the Patriots next week, sources say. This is after his Titans visit, as Hopkins’ free-agent market heats up. New England could add a top pass-catcher for Mac Jones,” Rapoport tweeted.

The Patriots receiving corps currently includes names like JuJu Smith-Schuster, DeVante Parker, and Tyquan Thorton. Hopkins would certainly be able to crack the rotation immediately, despite his age.

Hopkins played collegiately with the Clemson Tigers. The Houston Texans selected him with the 27th overall pick of the 2013 NFL Draft. The Texans traded Hopkins and a fourth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for running back David Johnson, a 2020 second-round pick and a 2021 fourth-round pick.

Hopkins signed a two-year, $54.5 million contract extension with the Cardinals in September 2020. In his last season with the team, he caught 64 passes on 96 targets for 717 yards and three touchdowns.
