The New York Giants are in their first full season of the post-Daniel Jones era. As the Giants look to start fresh at the position, they’ve added three major players to the position group this offseason: veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, as well as rookie Jaxson Dart.

While Wilson has already been declared the team’s starting quarterback, the Giants have released their first depth chart of the preseason, and there was a shocking development at the position, according to one prominent league insider.

Giants list Jameis Winston as their QB2 with Jaxson Dart third in line as of now. That doesn’t reflect training-camp reps so focus on the unofficial part for now,” reported NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo on Tuesday.

Fans reacte to the news on social media.

“I think Winston is gonna be QB2 to start season, just in case Russ gets hurt. They want Dart to watch for a bit,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Just shows they wanna be (patient) with dart and not rush him at all,” another fan added.

“Not too worried abt this tbh,” another fan added.

With Dart taking the bulk of the second team reps in training camp to this point, it’ll be interesting to see if he can surpass Winston on the depth chart by the time the regular season arrives.
