The New York Giants have signed a former first-round pick to their active roster ahead of their game versus the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
Landon Collins will stick around with the Giants after the team gave him the green light on Thursday. Collins, a former standout with Alabama, spent his first four seasons in the NFL with New York. The team and Collins parted ways and he went to division rival Washington in 2019.
Collins re-signed with the Giants earlier this year and has moved back and forth between their practice squad. He most recently appeared in their SNF win against Washington. And as of Thursday, he’s still around. The Giants announced the roster move on their Twitter account. They said, “We have signed Landon Collins to the active roster.”

The corresponding move sends linebacker Tae Crowder to the practice squad.
Collins, 28, is a former three-time Pro Bowler and former first-team All-Pro selection. Writers selected Collins as an AP All-Pro selection in 2016 when he finished third in NFL Defensive Player of the Year voting. Former Raiders star pass-rusher Khalil Mack won the award that season after an 11-sack campaign.
In 2022, Collins has appeared in just three games as he tries to find a consistent spot on the roster again. He will have to hope to regain form as the Giants’ defense has set a high standard. Especially up front. The team, 8-5-1 at this point, will hopefully have Xavier McKinney and Adoree’ Jackson soon as well.
