The New York Giants are looking to turn things around in their first full season of the post-Daniel Jones era. The Giants added three quarterbacks to the position room this offseason: veterans Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson, along with rookie Jaxson Dart.
Now, head coach Brian Daboll and the organization have named which of the three will be the starter for the 2025 season.
“Russell Wilson is the clear cut starter for the #Giants. ‘These guys will be out here competing but Russ is our starter,’ Brian Daboll said,” reported Jordan Raanan.
Fans reacted to Daboll’s declaration on social media.
“Correct decision. Russ is here for his experience and to learn from. I believe he’s got more talent left than some would say, Dart shouldn’t see the field as a starter until year 2 at least, assuming there isn’t an injury or catastrophic season start from Wilson,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“After a three win season I think this regime needs to put up some wins to see 2026. I don’t think they go with a rookie QB unless injuries force it,” one fan added.
“for now. As soon as this season starts going sideways, the calls for Dart will be too loud to ignore,” someone else added.
It’ll be interesting to see what Wilson still has left in the tank.
