Davante Adams

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams created headlines Monday night when he shoved a media member to the ground following the Raiders’ 30-29 loss to their longtime rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs.

That photographer alleges that the fall injured him, and he filed a police report shortly thereafter. The police charged the All-Pro receiver with simple assault Tuesday morning.

From KCTV reporter Shain Bergan:

“BREAKING: Raiders WR Davante Adams cited for assault in Kansas City, MO, after pushing a photographer while leaving the field in the Chiefs’ Monday night win against Las Vegas. Here’s a copy of the citation, filed in KC Municipal Court,” Bergan wrote.

The NFL world was quick to react to the news:

“Knew this was coming. I’ll take ‘Things you can’t do normally, but especially when you’re rich AF for $2000,’ Ken Jennings,” wrote KD Drummond.

“Literally ZERO media people with any common sense support this … if this photog worked where I do, I’d be in his face to tell him to stop this nonsense. All this will do is provide an excuse to further restrict media access,” said Jeff Richgels.

“The report here is at least interesting to read. (I see things like this constantly. Sometimes they’re charged, sometimes they aren’t. Sometimes as a disorderly instead. It’s all case by case),” Seth Keysor wrote.

“Money grab for the photographer. All I’d ask for is some tickets and autographed gear. Nice job posting Davante Adams’ address to social media as well,” noted Chase Senior.

“Today I learned the league’s most notorious shover of media has an elite middle name,” wrote Josh Hermsmeyer.

The NFL has yet to announce any punishment of Adams, if any.
