Star wide receiver Michael Thomas has only started four games for the New Orleans Saints over the past two NFL seasons, but it looks like the former Offensive Player of the Year is finally healthy and getting prepared for the 2021-22 season.

The Saints shared a video of Thomas‘ return to the practice field on Wednesday afternoon, showing the two-time All-Pro looking quick and athletic as he caught a pass near the sideline.

There was at least some doubt that Thomas would be able to return to the field so soon. After missing the entire 2021 season and the majority of the 2020 season with an ankle injury, Thomas was put on the physically unable to perform list once again ahead of New Orleans’ training camp as he continued to rehab his injury.

This news came as a shock to some, especially after NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Thomas was “in a good place” in terms of his health in February. But it seems his stint on the PUP list was short-lived, as Thomas is already back.

Upon seeing Thomas running for the first time in a long time, the NFL world was happy for the star receiver.

When healthy, Thomas is one of the most dominant receivers in the NFL. His return to the practice field is one step closer to Thomas getting back to that form.
