Nick Bolton’s scoop and score was a game changer for the Kansas City Chiefs. The Denver Broncos were solidly in the red zone and kept moving the ball up via running back Melvin Gordon.

Those scoring hopes stopped in their tracks as Melvin Ingram stepped in to force the fumble and Bolton to pick up the ball and score on an 86-yard play. So instead of a potential 28-20 or 23-20 Broncos lead, it became a 28-21 Chiefs lead entering into the final stages of the game.

This was Bolton’s first NFL touchdown and it came at a time when the Chiefs were struggling. In fact, both teams were struggling but for a team with hopes to be the top seed in the AFC, losing to your already eliminated rivals would be tough to swallow. The Chiefs held on to win and people took notice.
