It was previously reported that former first-round pick Jalen Reagor may not make the Philadelphia Eagles roster, with head coach Nick Sirianni previously saying that he was “battling for a spot”. It turns out he won’t be on the roster for the upcoming season, but it’s not due to the former TCU star getting cut.

The Minnesota Vikings have traded a 2023 seventh-round pick and a 2024 conditional fourth-round pick to the Eagles for Reagor according to ESPN insider Adam Schefter.

Reagor was selected just one pick ahead of Vikings star receiver Justin Jefferson in the 2020 NFL Draft, so it certainly makes for a very interesting storyline that the two receivers are now teammates.

It has to be hard for Reagor to compare himself to players in his draft class like Jefferson that have experienced far more NFL success, but now it may be even harder likely playing behind him on the same team.

On the flip side, it is a fresh start that is desperately needed for the third-year receiver.

Thus far in his career, Reagor has failed to eclipse 400 receiver yards in either of his two seasons in the NFL despite starting a majority of the games in Philadelphia.

It also adds a high-upside piece to the Vikings’ receiving corps should Reagor ever realize the potential that many believed he had coming into the league.

For the Eagles, they will get to move on from what was an obvious bust pick for them in 2020, and move forward with 2021 first-round pick Devonta Smith, and former Tennessee Titans star receiver A.J. Brown, who they traded for earlier this offseason.
