A shooting in central Florida Saturday night led to injuries to 10 people, including Houston Texans’ wide receiver Tank Dell. The team posted about that Sunday, saying that Dell “sustained a minor wound,” but adding that he “has been released from the hospital and he is in good spirits”:

Here’s more on what happened in the shooting at event venue Cabana Live! in Sanford, Florida (about 20 minutes north of Orlando), from C.A. Bridges at the Gannett-owned Florida Today:

A 16-year-old was arrested after the shooting of 10 people at an event in unincorporated Sanford shortly after midnight Sunday morning, deputies told local media.

…“The incident began as a verbal altercation that escalated,” SCSO spokesperson Kim Cannaday said in a statement to local media and The Associated Press.

According to SCSO investigators, a verbal altercation escalated and the shooter shot 10 people before being apprehended by a security officer working at the venue. The victims suffered non-life-threatening wounds, mostly to the lower extremities, deputies said.

Bridges’ piece notes that this is the 12th mass shooting (defined by USA Today, the Congressional Research Service, and the Gun Violence Archive as an incident where four or more people, not including the shooter, receive gunshot wounds) in Florida this year. However, last year saw 13 mass shootings in Florida by this point.
