Throughout his career with the Cleveland Browns, Nick Chubb has been one of the most dominant running backs in the league on the ground. But he’s looking to add a new dimension to his game this upcoming season as a receiver out of the backfield.
During a recent interview session, Nick Chubb made it clear that he wants to be utilized more as a receiver out of the backfield as he believes it will help the offense become a little less predictable when he was primarily used as a pure runner in the past.
“I think it will, not knowing what we’re going to do if I’m in the game,” Chubb said according to Scott Petrak of Browns Zone. “Last year I was just mostly first, second downs, so it kind of gave them an idea of what we were going to do. But hopefully this year it will be different with me doing more things.”
The Browns will be without Kareem Hunt this upcoming season, giving Chubb more opportunities and the chance to serve as the team’s every-down running back. We’ll have to see how this new role suits him as he steps into his first season as a true every-down running back.
