It’s always hard for a fan base when an organization has to move on from one of its most beloved stars. Things were no different for Cleveland Browns fans when they had to face the reality that running back Nick Chubb’s days with the Browns were over.
Chubb had back-to-back seasons cut short by brutal injuries before becoming a free agent in March. Prior to the injuries, Chubb was one of, if not the, most productive running backs in the league.
While he still isn’t on a roster, Chubb is letting the rest of the league know that the Browns made a mistake in dumping him.
“They’ve already wrote my ending when I’m just getting started,” Chubb said on his Instagram post.
Fans reacted to Chubb’s message on social media.
“Is a great athlete and unfortunately, A struggled a lot with injuries which is ever too common in the NFL that’s resulted in many people not necessarily living up to their full potential,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Just getting started? With th injuries you’ve sustained your one snapped leg from retirement my guy.. (get) outta here,” one fan added.
“Everyone loves Nick Chubb, but this just isn’t true. He has suffered tears in his ACL, PCL, LCL, and MCL, a foot fracture, will turn 30 this year, and is entering his eighth NFL season,” another person added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Chubb can prove the Browns and his doubters wrong.
