The Pittsburgh Steelers have had one of the busiest offseasons in the league, trading away star players and trading for others, as well as signing four-time MVP winner Aaron Rodgers. Now, it appears the Steelers’ front office might have more work in front of it.
Star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. recently took to Twitter to assure fans that he had more to give to the sport, and now it appears the Steelers are a potential landing spot for the former Super Bowl champion.
“I love him; we’ve had conversations,” Beckham said about joining Rodgers on the Steelers, according to Jack Markowski of Sports Illustrated. “I won’t say that it’s not a possibility, and I won’t say that I haven’t had any communications.”
Rodgers’ presence isn’t the only thing Beckham Jr. likes about the franchise either.
“I [expletive] love [Mike] Tomlin,” Beckham said. “I was actually supposed to be drafted to the Steelers. That was the meeting that I had that I was like, ‘I think I’m going to the Steelers.’ And the Giants ended up taking me at twelve.”
Fans reacted to Beckham on social media.
“Maybe he should could Davante Adams and see what he thinks,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Dudes a has been. Not news,” one fan added.
“Just what the Steelers need another old star,” someone else added sarcastically.
It’s not out of the question that the Steelers share Odell’s interest in a potential partnership, considering their wide receiver room is one of their thinnest postion groups heading into the season.
