It has been a rough stretch in the career of three-time Pro Bowl tackle David Bakhtiari as of late, who played in only one game for the Green Bay Packers last season.

At his best, he has been one of the best offensive linemen in all of football, but he simply hasn’t been on the field enough to help the Packers succeed as of late.

It looks like that trend may be continuing for Bakhtiari, as the Packers have made a notable move that indicates he still may not be able to go ahead of training camp.

The Packers placed Bakhtiari on the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list on Saturday.

He is no stranger to the PUP list, as he was on it the majority of the 2021 season after tearing his ACL in 2020.

Being put on this list before training camp is different than if a player were to be put on it in the middle of the season, as they can be activated at any time before the season starts.

Regardless, it is definitely not a great sign for the Packers or Bakhtiari moving forward that he has not progressed to the point of being able to practice for the team at his point.

Green Bay will likely be among the top teams in the NFC yet again next year, but could certainly go through some growing pains if Bakhtiari isn’t able to suit up to begin the 2022-23 NFL season.
