The NFL world was turned upside down when the Dallas Cowboys traded star pass rusher Micah Parsons to the Dallas Cowboys following an intense public dispute between Parsons and team owner and general manager Jerry Jones over a potential contract extension.
Parsons landed with the Green Bay Packers and inked an extension that made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in league history. Unfortunately for Parsons and Green Bay, the star edge rusher isn’t 100% healthy with the regular season just around the corner, according to one prominent NFL insider.
“Packers LB Micah Parsons has been dealing with an L4/L5 facet joint sprain in his back and he may take an epidural injection prior to Sunday’s game vs. the Lions if needed to help him play, per sources. Before trading Parsons last week, the Cowboys prescribed him a five-day plan of an anti-Inflammatory corticosteroid, a prednisone to help him recover from back tightness. They also had him on a physical therapy program. Parsons has been practicing this week and he is trying to play in Sunday’s opener vs. the Lions, though one source said it still is uncertain if he will,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Monday.

“I’ve had this exact problem in my spine. Did 6 epidural injections over the years. They worked for a while then the relief stopped. I had disc fusion surgery 2 years later. If Patsons has degenerative discs, he won’t be able to escape this fate,” one fan added.
“Packers paid 47 m’s for someone they gotta shoot up before a game??? Lmao,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if this problens lingers for Parsons throughout the season.
