As many of you may know, Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr and wide receiver Davante Adams played college football together at Fresno State.

The two are very close friends. So, Adams wasn’t too surprised that Carr contacted him with a reunion in mind after the Green Bay Packers lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC playoffs last season.

“As soon as I saw his name pop up, I knew what it was about,” Adams said, according to ESPN’s Tim Keown.

Carr admits his intentions to land his buddy in Las Vegas.

“Oh, man,” Carr says, “I was egregious.” “Hey, whenever you’re ready, I’m ready. Let’s figure this thing out.”

Carr wondered how should he wait before contacting Adams and the answer was, not long.

“I’m not going to lie,” Carr says. “I texted him the next day. I couldn’t help myself.”

Well, in April, the Raiders made Carr and Adams happy with a blockbuster trade that sent Adams from Green Bay to Las Vegas.

The move was a shock to many because of the relationship that Adams had with Aaron Rodgers, but family ties and his friendship with Carr closed the deal.

“The coolest part wasn’t the football part; it was that I got my friend back,” Carr says. “I think that’s the coolest part.”
