The Carolina Panthers look to finally be turning the corner and establishing a winning culture, as Sunday’s win over the New York Jets marked their third consecutive victory, pushing the Panthers to 4-3.

Unfortunately, keeping the momentum rolling is going to be difficult, as they’ve lost their franchise quarterback and former number one overall pick in the NFL draft to a high ankle sprain, according to one prominent NFL insider.

Panthers QB Bryce Young suffered a high ankle sprain on Sunday, an MRI revealed, and he is expected to miss this week’s game against the #Bills, per sources. Andy Dalton is now in line to start against Buffalo, and quite possibly beyond,” reported NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Pelissro followed up with more details.

The exact timetable for Bryce Young is TBD. This type of high ankle sprain is generally a 2-4 week injury, though Carolina is hopeful he could miss as little as one game. For now, the rising #Panthers turn to their veteran backup Andy Dalton.”

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“MetLife Stadium doesn’t just need to change the turf, they need to blow up that stadium. How many more injuries are needed for something to happen?” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Even a mild high ankle sprain is a pain to deal with. Similar to what JJ McCarthy is trying to battle through. Realistically he could return in 2 weeks but his mobility is going t be compromised for 4-6 weeks,” someone else added.

It’ll be interesting to see how Carolina looks without Young.
