The Carolina Panthers are not having the start to the season that they were hoping for in quarterback Bryce Young’s third season as a professional. In what was considered by many to be a “prove it” season for Young, the Panthers are 1-3 on the season.

While there’s still plenty of time to get things turned around for the Panthers, it’s looking as if it’ll be a harder task than originally anticipated, thanks to the injury status of a key player, via one prominent league insider.

“For the second straight day today, Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard did not practice today due to his calf injury. It’s similar to the one he played through last week, but worse,” ESPN’s senior insider Adam Schefter reported on Twitter.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“If Hubbard’s calf is already worse after one week, Carolina’s run game is cooked, they’ve got no depth to survive that hit,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Chuba Hubbard should sit out this week to avoid risking further injury, even if it frustrates fantasy owners,” another fan added.

“So the injury is getting worse, so the expectation that he’s going to play this week should be zero,” someone else added.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Panthers manage Hubbard for the rest of the season.
