The Kansas City Chiefs made a big move Thursday, bringing in second-year wide receiver Kadarius Toney in a trade with the New York Giants. Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes was not shy about how he felt about the move.

Mahomes took to social media on Thursday following the trade to post a GIF of former WWE superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson smiling.

Many saw this as Mahomes being pleased and eager to work with Toney moving forward.

Toney has yet to prove himself in the NFL throughout his short two-year career in New York, but playing with Patrick Mahomes can certainly help him do just that. His tenure in New York was certainly a rocky one, with the young receiver being seen visibly upset on the sideline earlier this season due to his lack of playing time with the Giants.

He has also been hampered by a hamstring injury for the majority of the season, which he is still currently dealing with.

It’s unclear what kind of role he will have with the Chiefs, but he joins an already dangerous offense that currently ranks first in the NFL in points and second in yards per game.

While their offense has certainly been impressive without star receiver Tyreek Hill, they don’t currently have a downfield threat like Hill on their roster. Toney certainly could be that type of player for Kansas City, which appears to have Mahomes and Chiefs fans very excited.
