Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes officially returned from his season-ending injury on Monday night, and he certainly looked healthy. He claims he feels healthy, too.

During a press conference after the team’s win over the Denver Broncos to start the season, Mahomes claims that he’s healthy enough that he isn’t even thinking about his injury anymore.

‘I feel good’

During a press conference this week as the Chiefs prepare to take on the Indianapolis Colts, Mahomes was asked how he has been feeling after the season-opening win.

Mahomes claims that his rehab has progressed to a point that he no longer even thinks about his injury anymore.

“Yeah, I feel normal,” Mahomes said, via transcript from the team. “Actually, I mean, it’s like a blessing and curse. You get sore everywhere else because you haven’t played football in so long. And so, the leg is like the least of my worries right now.

“So, I’m just excited to be out there and playing. At the end of the day, you don’t know until you get out there and play, and I was able to go out there and play, and I feel good today. So, now it’s about getting in the ice bath or whatever it takes to be ready for this Sunday night game.”

Mahomes Showed Off Athleticism

If there was any doubt about Mahomes’ athleticism and willingness to run after the ACL injury he sustained last year, those doubts were put to rest immediately on Monday night.

On the first play of the game, Mahomes weaved through the Denver Broncos’ defense for a 15-yard rushing touchdown on a scramble, showing no signs of lingering issues or hesitation in his running.

We’ll have to see how Mahomes will build on his strong debut during a Sunday night showdown with the Colts this week.
