It was a slow start for the Kansas City Chiefs in their wild-card matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Chiefs scored zero points in the first quarter in what looked like a game that would be a defensive battle.
Then everything changed in the second quarter when star quarterback Patrick Mahomes got going. Mahomes piled up the offense in a hurry, putting up 21 points in the second quarter, and the Chiefs never looked back.
Mahomes threw 5 passing touchdowns in a span of 10:30, which is by far the fastest in an NFL playoff game, breaking Tom Brady’s feat of just under 25 minutes in 2011.
Patrick Mahomes threw 5 Pass TD in a span of 10:30 of game time. It's easily the fastest span in NFL postseason history.
The next fastest? Tom Brady did it in just under 25 minutes in 2011.

Mahomes finished with an absurd stat line, throwing for over 400 yards with 5 touchdowns in what ended up being a blowout victory for the Chiefs.
Mahomes was the talk of the NFL world last night after his big performance followed an uncharacteristically slow start in the game.
From 1970-2017, the Chiefs had four playoff wins.
Patrick Mahomes has seven including a Super Bowl victory and two SB appearances.
Few players have ever altered their franchise so completely, so quickly

Patrick Mahomes became just the 11th quarterback in NFL history (regular season and playoffs) to throw for 400+ yards, 5+ TDs and fewer than 10 incompletions last night.
He's the only player to ever do it in the playoffs.

From the 10:35 mark in the second quarter (following the Steelers' defensive TD), Patrick Mahomes completed 24-of-27 passes for 359 yards and 5 TDs.
Pretty good!

The Chiefs will have a much tougher matchup in the divisional round against the Buffalo Bills in a game between two of the top quarterbacks in the NFL.
Bills QB Josh Allen had himself a career game in their matchup against the New England Patriots, finishing a near-perfect game going without any punts and only scoring touchdowns in a 47-17 rout.
