Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes has already established himself as one of the best and most accomplished quarterbacks in the history of the league, and he is set to make even more history in the near future.
Patrick Mahomes has not even reached his 30th birthday yet. However, with one more win in the postseason, Patrick Mahomes will tie Joe Montana for the second-most playoff wins in NFL history.
“If the Chiefs win their divisional round playoff game, Mahomes will tie Joe Montana for the second-most playoff wins by a starting quarterback in NFL history. Montana won 14 playoff games with the 49ers and two with the Chiefs,” Michael David Smith wrote for Pro Football Talk.
“When Mahomes won his 15th postseason game in last year’s Super Bowl, he moved into third place all by himself, ahead of Peyton Manning, John Elway and Terry Bradshaw, who each won 14 postseason games in their careers.”
Needless to say, this is some pretty insane news that highlights just how dominant Mahomes has been throughout his career at such a young age, and it sparked a lot of reactions on social media as a result.
“Lol in his 7th year as a starter. baby goat keeps breaking records,” one fan wrote on X.
“Montana didn’t have the refs in his pocket like the Chiefs plus in 1991 Montana injured his elbow and missed the entire season. He also missed most of the 1992 season due to complications from the injury and still put up numbers,” another person added.
“Better hope it isn’t the Ravens in the second round,” someone else wrote.
“No doubt! Montana was replaced by Bill Walsh, for Steve Young, who won a Super Bowl. No one is replacing Mahomes and he is still in his 20’s! He might make a run at Ton Brady’s 7 Championships!” another fan added.
We’ll have to see whether or not Mahomes can accomplish this goal. If he does, he’ll have a chance to move into second place all by himself with a win in the AFC Championship game.
