The Kansas City Chiefs are laser-focused on getting back to the playoffs after missing out for the first time in Patrick Mahomes’ career. However, Kansas City’s chances of doing so hinge heavily on how fast Mahomes can get healthy and return to the field after tearing his ACL last season.
Now, one of the league’s most prominent NFL insiders is providing a critical update with respect to Mahomes’ recovery process.
“The feeling right now within the organization is that he (Patrick Mahomes) is tracking to be ready for that Monday night game against Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos in Kansas City,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter said on Get Up.

“He may be ready, but the team is never ready till like week five. We just have to hope we limp our way to a a few wins in that time before we get our feet under us,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“That’s because he never tore his ACL, just needed an excuse to end a pitiful season. How is it Micah Parson who tore his in the same week, on pace to land on PUP list to start the season but Mahomes will be ready?” one fan posted.

It’ll be interesting to see how Mahomes looks in his first game action since the injury.
