The Kansas City Chiefs made their scheduled trip to the White House on Monday. After winning Super Bowl LVII, the Chiefs celebrated their victory in front of President Joe Biden and his staff in Washington, D.C. While Biden was honoring the team, star tight end Travis Kelce decided to improvise. But he quickly learned that teammate and two-time Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes has his head on a swivel.
Kelce went to step up to the podium and get on the mic in front of onlookers. “So, I’ve been waiting for this,” Kelce began to say as Mahomes then interjected and pulled him away. Laughter emerged from the crowd while Mahomes apologized after assisting his teammate away.

It’s not like Travis Kelce did anything exceptionally wrong, but Patrick Mahomes certainly “saved” his bacon. You just never want to be too sure with the President and the Secret Service.
It was all laughs and smiles for the Chiefs while they visited the White House, as they celebrate their second Super Bowl in five seasons. Kansas City will hope to repeat as champions as they seek to become the first team since the New England Patriots to repeat (2003, 2004). But the AFC is littered with strong challengers, so a third title since 2019 will be a tough hill to climb. But the Chiefs have proven they know how to get there, and to D.C., so they may wind up forging another path anyway.
