New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones has been out with a high ankle sprang since week 2 of the NFL season when they lost against the Baltimore Ravens.
There were even rumors that Jones was trying to make it back last week against the Green Bay Packers and had planned on playing but Patriots quarterback coach Joe Judge did not say if the team has set a timetable on Jones’ return to the lineup.
He did say Jones is working hard to come back.
“All I can speak on is how I see him work, and the attitude and enthusiasm for his team he brings every day. So, this guy’s doing everything he can physically to get back on the field full-time for us,” Judge said on Tuesday, via NBCSportsBoston.com. “He’s doing everything he can possible mentally he can to prepare for the game. He comes in every day focused. He does a great job in meetings, he does a great job on the field in what he can do out there when he’s with us.”

Fortunately for the Patriots, they seem to have found a quality replacement for Jones in backup quarterback Bailey Zappe who lead the Patriots over the Detroit Lions this past Sunday. Zappe also almost led the Pats to a victory over the Green Bay Packers last Sunday as well.
So the Patriots can allow Mac Jones can continue to rehab and eventually get back to the starting lineup.
