Aaron Rodgers Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (8) gets his bearings after being sacked in the fourth quarter, Sunday, September 7, 2025, in East Rutherford.

The Pittsburgh Steelers brought in Aaron Rodgers this offseason just in time for mandatory minicamp. Rodgers and head coach Mike Tomlin got off to a blazing start to the season, leading many to wonder what took so long for the pairing to manifest, especially in light of the Steelers’ recent struggles to find an answer at the position and Rodgers’ two disappointing seasons with the New York Jets

The Steelers experienced a bumpy patch in the middle of the season, but ultimately faced the Baltimore Ravens in Week 18 with everything on the line. Pittsburgh won the game, punching its ticket to the playoffs and ending Baltimore’s season.

However, after taking a nasty hit and a hard landing, Rodgers headed to the sideline nursing his left wrist, which he had broken earlier in the season, forcing him to miss his start against the Chicago Bears.

Unfortunately for the Steelers, Rodgers and his wrist have popped up on the injury report again ahead of their Monday night playoff game against the Houston Texans.

Luckily for Pittsburgh, Rodgers was a full participant, but its still something worth monitoring ahead of Monday night.

Head coach Mike Tomlin discussed the team’s overall health with the media.

“In-game, we got some bumps and bruises associated with play that may limit some people at the early portions of week,” he said, according to the Steelers’ official website. “Thankfully, we came out of it relatively well.”

“Everyone that returned to action last week, from T.J. to Isaac Seumalo to Calvin Austin, James Pierre, Brandin Echols all were able to participate without any steps backwards,” he said. “So, thankful for that.

“Relatively healthy group as we lean in on a single elimination tournament.”

While it’s great that the Steelers are trending in the right direction, it’ll be interesting to see to what extent the wrist affects Rodgers on Monday night.
