The Pittsburgh Steelers got an enormous road win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday to reclaim control of the AFC North standings. The game saw Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers turn back the clock somewhat, as the Steelers pushed the ball more downfield than in any other game this season.
Rodgers and the Steelers made it a point to feed star wide receiver DK Metcalf, who finished the game with seven receptions for 148 yards. It was a major bounce-back performance for the Steelers after suffering an embarassing loss to the Buffalo Bills last week.
The Steelers and Rodgers now have to shift their focus to thier next game, a Monday night matchup against the red-hot Miami Dolphins. Unfortunately for Rodgers, one top insider the league has confirmed some terrible news for his top target’s status for the game.
“Steelers standout WR DK Metcalf stayed overnight in Baltimore hotel after going to a local hospital following the game, team spokesman (Burt Lauten) confirmed. Metcalf was experiencing stomach pains on the flight and out of an abundance of caution, team medical personnel sent him to a nearby hospital. He’s flying back to Pittsburgh today,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported.
Rapoport then followed up with more information.
“DK Metcalf took a hard shot during the game and the goal was to rule out any significant internal injuries. It’s too early to tell how Metcalf’s status for the #Steelers MNF game vs. the #Dolphins will be affected. But the extra day helps.”

It’ll be interesting to see if the Steelers can keep things rolling against a fast-rising Miami if Metcalf is unavailable.
