Veteran NFL wide receiver Michael Floyd was arrested for a DUI last week in Arizona, and a newly-released police body cam video of the incident most certainly doesn’t make things look any better for Floyd.

Scottsdale PD released video on Tuesday of Floyd’s arrest, and the disturbing video shows Floyd totally passed out at the wheel of his Cadillac Escalade when approached by police at 2:48 AM last Monday morning. Floyd didn’t wake up until about 30 seconds after a policeman banged on the window, and then he clearly had no clue what was going on.

After Floyd kept saying that he didn’t know why he was stopped by police, a policeman explained to Floyd how he was at a green traffic light for two cycles and didn’t move:

“You sat through two light cycles, and you were asleep behind the wheel. Okay? You passed out behind the wheel of your car. That’s why all this is happening.”

Here’s the video, via TMZ:

The Arizona Cardinals quickly released Floyd after the arrest, and — while they may have released him due to the arrest regardless — it’s worth wondering if they were made aware of just how bad this scene looked. Just one day after being released by the Cardinals, Floyd was claimed off waivers by the New England Patriots. It will be interesting to see if the Patriots still keep Floyd after this footage (and the ensuing media and fan reaction), and he figures to face a lengthy suspension from the NFL.
