It never fails. When announcers calling a game praise you for one thing, you will immediately go out and do something embarrassing. Such was the case for Kansas City Chiefs starting quarterback Alex Smith.

The wily veteran had just finished being praised by NBC announcers Cris Collinsworth and Al Michaels for his ability to still get the job done with his feet when the situation calls for it. It was a part of Smith’s game that had proved to be a huge part of his game over the course of his career to an extent, and is still something the New England Patriots had to watch in the season opener Thursday night.

So what did Smith do immediately after being heralded as a runner? It was not pretty.

Oops.
