Former President Barack Obama is a huge sports fan and like most of the country, he tuned in to watch Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles face the Kansas City Chiefs.
Obama was impressed by both teams but he sent out a special shoutout to Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts for his performance in Sunday’s Super Bowl.
“Congratulations to the Kansas City @Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Andy Reid for a great Super Bowl win and for sustained excellence. And shout out to the @Eagles and Jalen Hurts—outstanding competitors with a bright future,” President Obama tweeted.

Obama, who is a Chicago native, is known for his love of his beloved Chicago teams but during his term in office, he only got to greet one of his favorite teams and that was the 2016 Chicago Cubs.
He also got to host several Alabama teams during his time in the White House and greeted one of those Alabama teams when Hurts was on the roster before he left office the following year.
Although the Eagles lost to the Chiefs, 38-35, Hurts may have played the best game of his career as a pro. Throwing for nearly 400 yards and had four rushing touchdowns.
Jalen Hurts may have lost the game, but his hero-like status continues to grow among the public.
