The Miami Dolphins made shockwaves around the NFL on Monday when they made a blockbuster trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers, sending star cornerback Jalen Ramsey and tight end Jonnu Smith to Pittsburgh in return for safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and draft capital.
However, following the trade, one former Dolphin had some choice words about how star players get treated within the organization.
“Hot take: Be a Pro-bowler on the Dolphins, get treated like [expletive]. Happy for my guys though! GO BALL OUT!!” running back Raheem Mostert, who spent three seasons with the Dolphins and was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2023, tweeted.
Fans reacted to Mostert’s tweet on social media.
“You guys got WELL taken care of. You all got fat pay raises. The Dolphins are rated #1 in the league with how well they take care of players. Thats a super bad take. You cost us games with your turnovers. You got paid. The fans never got what they paid for. Fat L brother,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Another hot take: The Miami Dolphins haven’t accomplished anything in 30 years to justify any fan defending this consistently failing organization,” one fan added.
“This is crazy. I hope the organization learns from this. Mike McDaniel gave you a place on this team. This is the thanks he gets,” someone else wrote.
It’ll be interesting to see if other players continue to speak out about their poor treatment in Miami.
