It’s not too late for the Las Vegas Raiders to turn things around. However, at 1-4 in a conference as loaded as the AFC, the Raiders will have to get the train back on the tracks quickly and keep it there. For that to happen, veteran quarterback Geno Smith, whom the Raiders traded for this offseason, is going to have to cut back on the interceptions that have been his Achilles heel this season.
Unfortunately, Smith is going to be without his top target this weekend against the Tennessee Titans, which will make keeping the ball safe in the air even more difficult.
“Raiders officially ruled out TE Brock Bowers for Sunday’s game against the Titans due to his knee injury,” reported ESPN’s senior NFL insider Adam Schefter on Friday.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Wow, this is a tough blow for the Raiders! Bowers was averaging 67.5 yards a game—a pace that had him on track for over 1,100 yards, joining legends like Ditka and Shockey. Without him, the offense is really struggling,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Everyone on the Vegas strip just dropped to their knees,” someone else added.
“just put bro on ice for the season it’s over,” an0ther fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see how Smith looks without Bowers on Sunday.
