Star wide receiver Davante Adams signed with the Las Vegas Raiders with the presumption that he would click with former college teammate Derek Carr as his starting quarterback. That hasn’t exactly happened, resulting in Carr getting benched in favor of journeyman quarterback Jarrett Stidham.
Adams was asked about Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels ultimately deciding to bench Carr, and he didn’t seem to be thrilled by the news.
“Obviously I don’t think anybody was excited about it in here,” Adams said via Raiders reporter Levi Edwards. “Him being one of my really good friends, and the reason that I came here in the first place. I wouldn’t be here right now if he wasn’t here. I think everyone knows how I feel about him. With that said, this is the process of how things go. I’m not going to sit here and go on and on, but I have to support my guy. We have to finish out this season the best way we can possible, with all things considered at this point.”

This certainly doesn’t sound like someone who is too happy about both Carr’s benching, or his decision to join the Raiders franchise in the first place.
While Adams has still played at an elite level individually, the Raiders have been a disaster this year as a team.
They still miraculously have an outside chance to make the playoffs in the AFC, so they must be hoping that Stidham can bring some life to this team in the final two weeks of the season.
