The Las Vegas Raiders appear to be in the midst of a bit of a rebuilding season as the team finds itself at the bottom of the standings in a loaded AFC West. However, it does not sound like that rebuild will include trading their superstar pass rusher.
On Tuesday, NFL insider Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reported that while other teams have expressed interest in acquiring star defensive end Maxx Crosby, the team has made the decision to stick with him and will not trade him to another team.
“The Raiders met with star DE Maxx Crosby today to let him know they aren’t shopping him and won’t trade him, sources tell me and
[Andy Slater],” Pelissero wrote in a post on X.
“While other teams are interested, the Raiders aren’t interested in moving their best player, and Crosby wants to stay in Las Vegas,” Pelissero added.
It’s early in the season, but it’s already quite obvious that the Raiders will not be in playoff contention this season.
After a season-opening win over the New England Patriots, things have not exactly gone well for the Raiders as they find themselves at the bottom of the divisional standings, behind the Kansas City Chiefs, the Los Angeles Chargers, and the Denver Broncos – all teams that look like playoff contenders early in the season.
Despite this, it sounds like the team is committed to keeping Crosby.
