Only three games into Josh McDaniels’ tenure as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, drama is at hand.
The Raiders fell to 0-3 after a 24-22 loss to the Tennessee Titans in Nashville Sunday. ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez reported that after the game, McDaniels had a “lengthy closed-door meeting with owner Mark Davis.”

After the meeting, McDaniels faced the media. He admitted the loss hurt.
“Nobody likes losing. We all feel s–tty,” McDaniels said (per Gutierrez).
Now, McDaniels must find a way to right the ship. The schedule may play into the Raiders’ favor. The upcoming Oct. 10 game at Kansas City looms as a major obstacle, but other upcoming opponents in the next few weeks include several underachieving teams in the Denver Broncos (two games), the Houston Texans, the Indianapolis Colts, the New Orleans Saints and the Seattle Seahawks.
Of course, one could argue every one of those teams is looking at the Raiders thinking the same thing — that’s a winnable game.
McDaniels’ meeting with the boss sparked some interesting reactions on social media.

Mark knows what championship habits/culture look like with the Aces. Hard to blame him for demanding same with his football team https://t.co/wpH6GqdpPI

Good news is Josh McDaniels will probably be back as Offensive Coordinator next year.

Josh McDaniels starting to give off some Sark vibes. Hype not matching what we watch. This isn’t politics. Can’t just fake it. Games give us the answer

The Raiders hired McDaniels in January to replace interim head coach Rich Bisaccia, who ran the show after Jon Gruden resigned under a cloud of scandal involving racist, homophobic and misogynistic emails.
This is McDaniels’ second stint as an NFL head coach. He posted an 11-17 mark in Denver in 2009-10.
