In one week, the Tennessee Titans will kick off the start of the 2025 NFL Draft with the No. 1 overall pick. But on Thursday, it is the Los Angeles Rams created some buzz with a historic announcement relating to their draft.

In a post on X, the Rams posted a promotional video ahead of the draft, announcing that they will be holding their headquarters for the draft from the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) Air Operations base in central San Fernando Valley.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter provided some further details not included in the video, outlining how the Rams will be converting a room and other additional space within the LAFD Air Operations base for the team to operate throughout the draft.

One cool aspect of this innovative concept from the Rams is that LAFD Air Operations will remain fully operational during the 2025 NFL Draft. So at least hypothetically, fans of the NFL Draft could very well see first responders preparing to go into action during ESPN’s NFL Draft coverage.

In a statement on the matter, Rams team president Kevin Demoff outlined the reasoning for this decision, saying that he hopes the gesture serves as a “powerful reminder of what it means to represent Los Angeles”.

“Drafting from LAFD Air Operations is a powerful reminder of what it means to represent Los Angeles,” wrote Demoff in a statement on the Rams team website. “Since the wildfires devastated our region in January, we have looked to bring LA Together to help with the recovery efforts, raise the spirits of those impacted, and shine a light on our first responders. We are humbled to partner with LAFD during one of the NFL’s biggest moments to express gratitude for those who risk their lives daily to protect our city.”

Naturally, Rams supporters and staffers took to social media to share how excited they were about this cool honor to first responders.
