The Baltimore Ravens are having a nearly unfathomable poor start to the season. The Ravens were expected to be one of the best teams in the AFC, but are sitting at 1-5. As bleak as things have looked, head coach John Harbaugh remains focused on steering the team back to the playoffs.

“Our focus is going forward and what we can accomplish for the next 11 games to try to earn our way into the playoffs, which obviously, as [it was] pointed out last night, has not been done very often with the record we have,” Harbaugh said. “But, we still believe we can do it.”

It seems that Harbaugh and the Ravens have decided the best way to get back to winning football games is by letting go of one of the most recognizable names on their roster.

“Ravens are releasing S Chauncey Gardner-Johnson after the safety’s agent Kevin Conner and Ravens officials came to “an amicable mutual decision”, per Conner. “After the Ravens traded for a safety, we were looking for a clearer path to play,” Conner added,” reported ESPN’s senior NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Fans reacted to the roster move on social media.

“Wow, CJGJ’s Ravens stint was short-lived! After the Gilman trade, he’s out seeking more playtime. Eagles fans are buzzing for a reunion, while Lions fans smirk at the deja vu. His versatility keeps the NFL guessing!” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Ravens letting chauncey gardner-johnson go right after trading for another safety is cold timing,” someone else added.

“Makes sense — sometimes a fresh start is the best move for both sides,” one fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see if Gardner-Johnson lands with another team this season.
