Odell Beckham Jr. got accused of a terrible crime in April, as a woman claimed he grabbed her throat at a Los Angeles nightclub.

But prosecutors said Tuesday they will not charge Beckham Jr. because there is no evidence to support the woman’s claims. According to TMZ Sports, prosecutors said that surveillance video from the Delilah nightclub “contradicts the complaining witness’ account of events. … The video does not capture any battery.”

And there are no other witnesses to the alleged event. One of the woman’s friends, who was standing with her during her encounter with OBJ, could not confirm her story.

Beckham Jr. had said he did nothing wrong after the accusation surfaced, and the nightclub owner, John Terizan said (via The New York Post) “There is no evidence of this person even being in the area where she claims the incident occurred.”

So now the 30-year-old OBJ can return to the field without a legal issue hanging over his head. In April, the three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver signed a one-year, $15 million contract with the Baltimore Ravens, ending a months-long bid to find a new team as a free agent.

Beckham Jr. missed the entire 2022 season after tearing his ACL in the Los Angeles Rams’ win in Super Bowl LVI.
