The New York Jets hype machine is in full force as the NFL season kicks off Sunday. With Aaron Rodgers aboard, the Jets have all the attention in the AFC East. Beyond Rodgers, there’s plenty of reason to like the roster. One former Jets coach fawned over the team and clearly communicated his feelings about them.
Rex Ryan, now working for ESPN, appeared on Sunday NFL Countdown as anticipated. While on the show, Ryan expressed significant belief in the Jets and what they have. The former head coach went so far as to make a bold claim that got everyone talking.
“This is the most talented roster the Jets have ever had — ever had,” Ryan said on the show.
Rex Ryan revealed he picked the Jets to win the Super Bowl before Sunday NFL Countdown got to that point, then said “This is the most talented roster the Jets have ever had. Ever had! And, I don’t care, way more talent on defense than I had.” pic.twitter.com/a9Zdiw6pcm

Ryan also predicted that the team would win its first Super Bowl since Super Bowl III.
The Jets, indeed, boast a talented roster. Running back Breece Hall shined last year before he went down with injury. Then there’s Garrett Wilson, a stud second-year receiver from Ohio State who many expect big things out of. That includes Rodgers, who boasted about his new favorite receiver earlier this preseason. The defense looks great as well. Quinnen Williams leads a great group up front, and Sauce Gardner should maintain his status as one of the best defensive backs in the state. Even if he has only played one full season.
So, fawn away over the Jets, Rex.
