Forget trying to figure out if the tortoise could beat the hare, we finally have an answer to the age-old question of whether or not a hawk could beat a Robert Griffin III.
The Seattle Seahawks will host Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos on Monday night for a highly anticipated showdown at Lumen Field. But first, the Monday Night Football crew was looking for a way to spice up their pregame presentation and figured out exactly what would work.
RGIII, who still likes to lob out the possibility of playing in the NFL again, decided to take on the Seahawks’ live mascot Taima the Hawk in a race. Perhaps surprisingly, perhaps not, Griffin got it done and beat the hawk to the finish line.

The race garnered some fun reactions from the NFL world, who appreciated RGII saying “I think the Cowboys just called me” afterward.

It’s unlikely that Griffin will get back in an NFL uniform anytime soon, but if this is the start of a new feature where he races live mascots before every game, that’s something we think we can all get behind.
The Seahawks host the Broncos at 8:15 p.m. EST and we’ll see if anyone rips off a run that can top this.
