Former NFL running back and Heisman Trophy winner and current analyst for The Longhorn Network Ricky Williams was arrested on Tuesday on traffic warrants following a routine traffic stop in Texas. Williams then took a light-hearted approach to his mugshot.

What would possess anyone to smile for a mugshot is beyond me. Then again, Williams has always been an intriguing personality over the years.

According to the American-Statesman, Williams was arrested by police in South Austin on Tuesday on traffic warrants. What violations led to those warrants was not described. He was initially pulled over for a traffic offense. He was then taken into custody in a county jail and has since been released.

This wasn’t Williams’ first trip to the Travis County Jail. He was also booked there during his NFL career for — you guessed it — a traffic-related offense. Maybe it’s time for Williams to just start using Uber or Lyft to get where he needs.

  1. that’s because it isn’t serious it was flippin traffic warrants. He didn’t commit a felony.

  2. What are you talking about? You should always smile for your mugshot. In fact you should try to make it your best photo.
