Former NFL tight end Rob Gronkowski sparked speculation about a potential NFL return last week, tweeting: “I’m kinda bored.”

It turns out that was just a promotional stunt for a partnership with FanDuel, but Gronkowski further cleared the air about a potential NFL return in an interview on Monday.

Gronkowski went on Kay Adams’ Up And Adams podcast, where he revealed that while he “misses the guys” in Tampa Bay, he isn’t interested in an NFL return at this point.

“I definitely miss everyone over there. That was a great two years that I had over there. It was a great situation I had going on. It was a situation that I wanted to finish off my final years in the NFL. They are great guys in the locker room, but I really don’t have that itch to go back. If I did, I’m sure I would have went back already.”

Gronkowski also detailed that he doesn’t feel like he is in the right mindset physically or mentally to return to the grueling game of football.

“I’m not really prepared right now to go back at all either. The mindset, either mentally or physically. Not prepared at all, I am just enjoying my time.”

Someone with the storied career of Rob Gronkowski certainly has nothing left to prove at the NFL level, and it appears that he’s happy enjoying the retired life compared to dealing with the grit and grind of an NFL season.
