The Denver Broncos are making people so angry that they were even the impetus for a Twitter argument between ESPN’s Robert Griffin III and former NFL player LeSean McCoy until Jackson State’s Deion Sanders stepped in.

We start this Mad Libs story on Thursday night when the Broncos played the Indianapolis Colts in a truly terrible Thursday Night Football contest full of offensive futility. An image of Broncos running back Melvin Gordon staring at quarterback Russell Wilson started making the rounds and RGIII, himself a former NFL quarterback, decided to have some fun with it.

While plenty of people had fun captioning the photo, former Pro Bowl running back McCoy did not. McCoy responded to Griffin by commenting that the former Washington quarterback “experience(d) this moment a lot more than Russ,” taking a shot at RGIII’s disappointing NFL career.

Griffin wasn’t about to take that and let it go. The NFL analyst then accused McCoy of being bitter and claimed that if not for injuries he would have had a better career than the former Eagles star.

Things kept going and it seemed like these two might do this dance forever. Then, NFL legend and Jackson State head coach Deion Sanders, of all people, intervened.

Griffin was ready to let bygones be bygones but McCoy decided to get another shot in, questioning Sanders’ characterization of RGIII as “dominant.”

It looks like the drama ends there, but who knows when LeSean might strike again as he’s developed a reputation for speaking his mind pretty plainly.
