It’s been a tough couple of weeks for the Virginia Cavaliers community after a former Virginia Cavaliers football player shot and killed three of the team’s current players. The shocking tragedy has led to the team canceling its game against Coastal Carolina as well as its rivalry showdown with the Virginia Tech Hokies as the players mourn the loss of their teammates, and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft has made a grand gesture to aid them in that process.

As Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports, Robert Kraft loaned the New England Patriots team plane to the Virginia football team free of charge to help them travel to their fallen teammate’s funerals at various locations across the country.

According to Pro Football Talk, D’Sean Perry’s funeral took place in Miami on Saturday while Devin Chandler’s funeral took place in Virginia Beach on Sunday. The funeral for Lavel Davis Jr. will be on Wednesday in North Charleston, South Carolina.

It was certainly a heartwarming move from Kraft, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it.

The Patriots didn’t need the plane this weekend after playing on Thursday night against the Minnesota Vikings. So Kraft was glad to lend it to the team.
