While Aaron Rodgers has already made his intentions clear, the New York Jets and Green Bay Packers remain very much in a staring contest. With neither team willing to blink first and each seemingly holding on to its proverbial leverage, it may be a while before this situation becomes resolved.
In the meantime, while the Jets don’t want to make too many public comments about the potential addition of Rodgers, New York’s head coach sounded off about the prospect of adding a potential Hall of Famer to his locker room.
“Two years ago when we first got there, just thinking about where we were and how far we’ve come, to have a guy like him want to play for us is pretty cool and shows how far we’ve come,” Saleh said via NFL Network’s Judy Battista on Sunday.

Saleh again commented on his reaction to Rodgers’ intention when speaking with reporters at the annual league meetings in Phoenix, Arizona on Monday.
“I mentioned it yesterday [in reference to his comments to Battista], w’ve come a long way in three years,” Saleh said via SNY’s Jets Videos on Twitter. “To have a guy of his caliber….and a lot of guys want to come here and play. There’s a lot of excitement around this organization and it’s a cool thing to be a part of. Hopefully, we can just continue moving forward and capitalize on the momentum.”

While Saleh is unsure of a timeline regarding a potential trade, he did say that he’s sure that the Jets and Packers will eventually figure something out.
