Russell Wilson expressed optimism and outlined some crucial goals for the 2023 season on Thursday. The embattled Denver Broncos quarterback went through a series of struggles in a woeful 2022 season. The Broncos traded for Wilson and gave him a nine-figure contract, but the return on investment didn’t meet the moment. Now, with new head coach Sean Payton, Wilson and the Broncos want to put everything behind them.

Wilson appeared poised to do exactly that on Thursday. He boasted, via DenverBroncos.com, “I want to have the best offseason of my life. I want to be the best version of me, and I’m looking forward to the work of it all and doing that.”

DenverBroncos.com wrote that Wilson said that “everyone on the team wants to be at their best.” That also applies to the former Super Bowl Champion.

According to the article, Wilson revealed he lost weight in the off-season. The “best shape in your life” line you often hear every off-season was recited again in the Mile High.

All credit to the enduringly positive Russell Wilson, no matter the situation. He had a tough season in Denver; nobody would dispute that. But it seems for now that the tide has subsided. Now the work has to be put in. For Wilson and Sean Payton, and everybody on the Broncos, that means it all pays off and things go much better.
