It’s been a rough season for the Denver Broncos and starting quarterback Russell Wilson despite lofty expectations after the team acquired the nine-time Pro Bowl quarterback during the offseason. The team has just a 3-6 record and ranks dead last in the NFL in terms of scoring offense, averaging just 14.6 points per game, and Wilson is having by far the worst season of his entire career.

But despite all the struggles this season, Russell Wilson sounded quite optimistic about the rest of the season during his weekly press conference on Wednesday, reminding everyone multiple times throughout the media availability that there is “a lot of football left,” while acknowledging that he’s struggled before.

“First of all, I have to play better,” Wilson said in his press conference according to Pro Football Talk. “I’ve got to find ways to make some more plays for us, more touchdowns. And it’s something that you continue to work for every day. You focus on the little things, the fundamentals, the little things of the game.

“I’ve been down before. It doesn’t mean that we can’t come out on the other end of it all.

Those are very optimistic quotes for a team that has the worst offense in the NFL. But Wilson isn’t wrong – the team can still hypothetically turn its season around.
